This isn’t goodbye, in fact it’s far from it.

Last month I decided to do something drastic. I decided to take the next 14 months off.

That’s right - I’m closing my doors (metaphorically), and they won’t be open again until February 2022.

WHAT?! I’M NOT GOING TO BE DOG TRAINING! What will I be doing with a whole year off you might ask!

Lots of thing as it happens.

For the last four years I’ve been working part time whilst creating two small humans.

My days have been filled with tackling the ongoing needs of battling siblings, writing training plans for puppy clients, retrieving lost socks stuffed down air vents, wading through emails and daydreaming about all the creative projects I have no time for.

In truth, I’m exhausted.

This summer provided me with the opportunity to stop. It was more like grinding to a halt. To anyone who asked, I said I was slowing down due to the rise in local COVID cases, but the truth was I need a few months to reflect on how I was doing, without the constant pressure of daily admin tasks.

After a couple of months of not doing much at all, no newsletters, no blog posts, no emails, no social media updates, I suddenly found space for my creative ideas to emerge.

What I was able to hold on to is that I love working with clients, and I love creating content. What I’m ready to get rid of is the pressure of writing up reports that are already two days late….and lets be honest, how many of you actually read the multipage training documents that I send to you?

So, the good news is that I’ve started working on some really exciting projects that I can’t wait to share with you.

I’m in the process of getting all my training materials online - so it’s super easy to share coaching videos, and assignments, and I’m creating my first free online course that will be released in a couple of weeks.

I have a long list of blog topics that I’m super passionate to dig into, and I’m drafting out the plans for my flagship Basic Skills online course that will be rolling out in the Fall.

None of this would be possible without the mentorship and support of Renée Erdman at Bravo Dog. Her guidance and clarity have given me the much needed kick in the pants, and the renewed passion to get back to doing what I love doing.

I look forward to sharing this journey with you, and answering any questions you may have.
